remember when

remember when we used to sleep in clothes
a mood might escalate into a fight,
you'd say you didn't feel like it tonight
and stop my hand from going where it goes.
or else i'd interrupt one of your flows
because i'd be too soft or come too fast that night,
you'd kiss my nose and say it was alright,
that every couple has its highs and lows.
now i cross oceans to open your door
with no idea that on the other side,
you're ready, your clothes all over the floor,
your slithering hips all restless to ride.
and it's so easy now, no wondering why,
because of the good that comes with goodbye.
